Too Busy Making a Living to Create Wealth

THE FALLACY OF OUR GENERATION…

Recently it’s come into my awareness that people are very busy. Busy doing what? I’m not sure… To me it seems like we are too busy making a living to really ever create any wealth.

I talk to people everyday that tell me how they don’t have any money, and they are working very hard, and they are trying to get ahead… But they just can’t seem to move forward.

Many of the people that I know work hard at their jobs… 40-50-60 hours a week + commute time… Only to be laid off, or let go due to reasons that have nothing to do with them!!

What people don’t realize is that the system is broken. And it’s designed to that way!

See we are all told to go to a good school, get a good job, and work really hard and you will be ok… Well that may have worked for our parents and our grandparents… But for today’s workforce… It is very different.

The problem is that there is no retirement, no pension, and probably not much if any social security by the time we’re old enough for it.

So why aren’t we addressing those issues now? Why are we too busy to create something for the future? Why are we spending so much of our “LIFE” on things that will not really provide for us in the long term?

Too many of us are just HOPING that something will come along or just assume that we will be ok…

This is the fallacy of our generation…

WE MUST set aside some of our focus on a weekly basis to create something long term that will provide residual income for our retirement… PERIOD.

Some of us may inherit wealth from our parents… but…

If we are unwilling to focus on the future a task then we are doomed to poverty and government assistance in our retirement.

Long gone are the days of Pension + Retirement+ Social security+ government funded health care to provide in our “golden years”

Companies are no longer committed to their employees like they were in my fathers’s generation… Providing for a nice pension as well as full health care for his retirement.

So we know this problem is coming… We know that we have mostly nothing set up for the future… and yet… We still blindly, and ignorantly continue on in the same path

Less than 5% of ALL people will retire wealthy. 65% will be dead, or dead broke.

But ignoring the future… Does not change it..

Another issue that we need to address is taxation. But again… That is another issue that you really have to “WANT” to know something about. Most people are taxed at about 50% of their income that goes straight to the government… Incredible opportunities exist to put the money “TO WORK” for you, instead of giving it to the government to waste… But… Again… you must take some of your “FOCUS”… and invest it in the things that will pay you residual income, and provide for you when your “JOB” is long gone…

Actively changing your focus and investing in a “side” business, or purchasing property, or doing something THAT IS NOT LINEAR INCOME…in addition to your “day job” is the only alternative that we have seen to fight back against the impending poverty, over taxation, and devaluation of the dollar. that is headed our way.

The Evolution of a Online Marketer

There is an evolution that must happen with online marketers. Either the evolution will happen… or the marketer will fail… It’s just that simple.

Daily I get multiple offers from multiple people about multiple things… as I’m sure you do… But what’s different for me is that usually I take a look at what people are selling, how they are marketing it, and how they are doing with it…

Usually I can tell where that person lies on there Evolution as a marketer…

This is usually how it goes…

Someone finds a product or service that they want to market… Be it a network marketing company, or maybe they are a realtor and they want to start marketing online, or they are selling other marketing services…or whatever… Typically these people are going to be “excited” about their new venture…

understandably so… I’m always excited when we add a new product or service to our offerings…

Marketing Evolution Scale.

#1 NOOB newbie marketer..

The first thing that they do is run out and tell all their friends and family about how great there “widget” is… Usually there excitement is genuine… and I am typically excited for them because I am happy anytime anyone does ANYTHING to attempt to get out of a job/system that they don’t like, and takes a forward action… So CHEERS t the NOOB marketer!

Typically they may even get some direction from their upline/boss..
Make a list…
Talk to everyone that comes within 3 feet of you.. (we affectionaly call these people PUKERS)
Build a website
Go to Networking Mixers
Get business cards
Go to the Hotel/weekly conference calls.
Etc. Etc.

Often times we’ll see NOOBS jump from one company to the next, and/or get easily distracted by BOS (BRIGHT SHINY OBJECTS) that promise easier riches or simpler marketing.

This is great and can even work for some people in some situations… But Typically the person “GIVING” the advice to the noob isn’t much further along than they are in the business… and are not currently building an active business that they can be proud of…

As we see the problem with a NOOB… Is they may not have the commitment necessary to really take their business to a full time online marketing empire… Those situations above may getthe occasional lead or referral, or sale… But those activities can be a full time effort in of itself, let alone getting any selling done

Level #2… (AAS- ALMOST A SPAMMER) A NOVICE

This often happens with people that thing that just “TELLING EVERYONE” about their offer or opportunity is a great idea… IT ISN’T! Sometimes a NOOB will move towards becoming a (AAS-Almost a spammer)

The definition of a spammer is someone that sends out too much unsolicited information. See they are under the “false” idea that the more people that see their offer the more people will respond to it..

Typically their offer will not be their own creation… They will be offering someone elses affiliate program or product or service, because they have not created anything themselves that has value to the marketplace.

Typically the things that the AAS is missing is things like targeting marketing, and most importantly RELATIONSHIP BUILDING!!

Typically an AAS will spam something once… and then move on… Typically the AAS is NOT engaged with his customers and hopes that you will just go to their site and buy… Maybe it works for some… But not a strategy that has any LONG term growth potential.

#3 THE STRUCTURED MARKETER

A (SM-STRUCTURED MARKETER) will have a few things in place.
Typically they will have their own “lead capture pages” that they use to grow their list.
Typically the will have a DATABASE of some sort (above and beyond just an autoresponder)
Typically these people will start to create their OWN BRAND… Instead of using someone else’s landing pages, company name, or company sales funnel…
These people are starting to realize that they need their OWN NAME, OWN BRAND, OWN SALES FUNNEL…

And most importantly…. They are staring to actually create relationships with people…Through interaction and participation, and just longevity.

#4 THE (PM- THE PROFESSIONAL MARKETER)

This person has typically been through all the other levels and has made a few new determinations for himself..

#1 They have a long term VALUE goal.
Something that is above and beyond just “GETTING MORE SALES”

#2 They have committed to constantly improving themselves and take Personal Development classes regularly

#3 They typically use Automation to the ends of CREATING and MAINTAINING relationships… Not just to SPAM their lists.

#4 “ATTRACTION MARKETING” plays a much bigger role in Professional Marketers efforts.

#5 Typically is very interested in the success and happiness of their clients before themselves

So taking a look at all 4 levels… Which are you?

Posting VS Advertising VS Relationships

Having been in marketing for years and years now, more and more becomes apparent to me.

There is a dramatic difference between posting, advertising and creating relationships.

We have all heard of the Know, Like and Trust factor right?

I mean no one wants to do business with someone that they don’t know like or trust right?

Especially when it comes to internet marketing, MLM, or social media marketing.

Social Media is massively misunderstood in this regard… So lets jump into it..

Posting on Social Media.

On a social media marketing platform such as Google+ or Facebook or Linkedin… Our posts should do two things.

Create credibility and Authority… and ENGAGE or clients.

If you’re posts skips these steps then it won’t have any credibility. For example… Often times I see people just blatantly posting their links and or business opportunities all over the place. This simply doesn’t attract the type of person that you would want in your business anyway…

Someone like me ( or an experienced marketer) wouldn’t be interested in such “trash” posted all over the place. The bottom line is that it just simply doesn’t work… Many people think that it does, but believe me… It doesn’t. If I see such a post, and then I ask the poster about it… They’ll of course tell me how great it works and then I’ll ask them about their engagement and conversion… and they can’t answer.

This to me… Is a failed idea… How does it benefit you to post your links and “junk” all over the place.

Advertising

So what is the difference between advertising and posting on social media ? Advertising as we know it is changing all the time… Especially with the internet… But if you are advertising… You need to have your metrics set up… You need to have a sales funnel… and know your numbers… What are you trying to get the prospect to do? Do you have a plan for them? For example one major platform that we are all familiar with is Craigslist… When you post on craigslist you want people to call you or go to your website… That’s it..

Unlike Social Media… With advertising ENGAGEMENT COMES AFTER THE CLIENT TAKES A FORWARD ACTION…

So with advertising the message has to be that much “Stronger” to overcome the barriers of know, like and trust. See with social media, you’re job is to create engagement. With advertising you have to jump to direct action by the client. So this can be a challenge for most “newbies” into marketing… Because they are just so excited about their opportunity that they are just running around trying to tell everyone about it.

In our opinion, this is why social media trumps traditional advertising…

But… Most users of social media are using in incorrectly. They think that social media is the SAME as advertising… And obviously it is not… With social media you have the opportunity to actually ENGAGE your prospects, identify them by targeting, and creating a specific message for that target… Whereas advertising is shooting with the shotgun to get a wider target, and a more general message

Relationships

So that all being said… Where do you want the “RELATIONSHIP” to start… That sort of depends on what you’re selling or marketing… Our opinion is that if you are in any sort of recruiting, mlm, sales or real estate… You should consider targeting your marketing FIRST, and the creating your Relationships… As apposed to just mass marketing your information.

Too many people use social media incorrectly. If we take the time to really nurture our relationships there, learn about our potential prospects, and take the time to actually engage with them… instead of just trying to sell them something… Things will work out much better.

I mean after all, you don’t want to be hammered with a bunch of stuff that you’re not interested in on your newsfeed in your email box, and in your linkedin email box either right?

But if someone takes the time to actually build a relationship with you the odds are much better that they will show an interest back… So lets focus on creating those relationships.

There are a couple of main things you can do to be successful with social media.. In other videos on this site we go into the “meat” of exactly how… Here we can talk about the idea that social media won’t sell you anything…

But by using it correctly…

By searching out your perfect Prospect
Creating your perfect Brand
Making sure you are the go to Authority
Creating a RELATIONSHIP

You can go a long way to creating fantastic relationships on Social Media
